VK6RLM DMR back on line

Hi all,

After what seems like an eternity the VK6RLM DMR repeater is back on line with full connectivity to the Brandmeister network.

After getting HamNet to the site we had to work with the Brandmeister teams both in VK and the US, and then fix a fault with the repeater.

Thanks must got to Matt, VK6ML, for all his work.

The Output frequency of the repeater is 438.525 MHz with a -7MHz offset for the input.

TS1 is user access for whatever talkgroup you like. Just TX on that talkgroup and it will connect and remain connected for 15mins after no more local activity, at which time it will disconnect.

TS2 are statically mapped to TG505 (VK) and TG5056 (VK6).

Have a look at https://brandmeister.network/?page=repeater&id=505605

Reports and feedback welcome.

WARG June 2022 Meeting Postoned

Greetings WARG members,

Hope everyone is well – my apologies for lack of contact the past few weeks – somewhat unusual circumstances have limited my WARG focus since our May AGM, until the last day or so (In my case, a close family bereavement requiring a lot of family time, and more recently a dose of COVID!). Others have also been busy, for these reasons, little preparation has been done for the June meeting, scheduled for this coming Monday 13th.

My COVID aftermath means I am not available for this Monday, and several other Committee members have also been occupied, or are unwell and unable to attend. After consideration, the WARG Committee proposes that we skip the upcoming June meeting, and focus on the one scheduled for July 4th.

If anyone has concerns about this, please say ASAP – the WARG Committee is able to make decisions in between meetings and can progress any urgent business if required.

(A remote meeting via Skype may be possible – but if there are pressing issues that require a wider membership discussion, these are probably better done with some notice, and with good representation from WARG Committee – neither of which are feasible to achieve by this Monday).

Minutes from the recent AGM, and the following General Meeting are attached, along with the Treasurer’s and Membership reports from the General Meeting. As usual, E&OE, please let me know ASAP if any corrections or changes.

Apologies again for the short notice, it’s not been a great few weeks for me, I appreciate everyone’s understanding. Happy to discuss as required.

Regards and 73,
Anthony VK6AXB
President, WARG

WARG AGM 2022 and Subs Due Reminder

WARG AGM

Hi all, Just a reminder that the West Australian Repeater Group AGM Annual General Meeting will take place this Monday night 2nd May at 1930 at Pelican Point Sea Scouts facility, at 12 Australia II Drive in Crawley, WA.

Pelican Point Sea Scout Hall Click here for the Google Maps Link.

The AGM is planned to be a face-to-face gathering at WARG’s regular meeting venue, the 1st Pelican Point Sea Scouts facility, at 12 Australia II Drive in Crawley, WA. For those who prefer to attend online, we will also have a Skype meeting in parallel, with screens and audio so those online can hear and participate in the face-to-face meeting.

However, if prior to the AGM our ability to meet is suddenly restricted due to a new COVID-19 outbreak or similar, this arrangement may change to a remote meeting via Skype only. Clear advice will be provided with as much notice as possible if this were to be the case.

The link to join the Skype meeting is as follows:

Please email secretary@warg.org.au for the link or visit https://www.warg.org.au/2022/04/warg-skype-link/ (This link is protected by a password, the same password members use to access the WARG Minutes)

WARG Newsletter and AGM reminder – Monday May 2nd

Dear WARG members,

I hope all is well with everyone.

Apologies for the delay, but I am forwarding the AGM advice and Newsletter to the email list, although members would have received this directly via email at the start of last week – I am reforwarding in case it was somehow missed the first time.

Attached is WARG’s Newsletter for 2022, incorporating the formal advice of the upcoming Annual General meeting on Monday, 2nd May 2022, at 7:30 pm (WA time). Thanks to Ray VK6ZRW for putting this newsletter together. The Minutes of the previous AGM are also included.

Please email secretary@warg.org.au for the link or visit https://www.warg.org.au/2022/04/warg-skype-link/

Advice of the AGM agenda is attached, along with a form (inside the newsletter), should you wish to nominate for an official Committee position. Without the key Committee positions being filled, WARG cannot effectively operate. Early nomination in writing for all Committee positions is encouraged. Agenda items, and Committee nominations can be sent to secretary@warg.org.au , and need to be sent at least a week before, on or before Monday April 25th.

Nominations require proposers and seconders, if you can’t contact other members to have the form physically signed, electronic evidence of nomination and seconding will suffice (eg: email trail, electronic signatures etc).

If you have any questions or need any advice on the meeting, or the nomination process, please contact me at secretary@warg.org.au . Another reminder will be sent closer to the meeting date.

As per WARG Membership Officer Carsten VK6PCB’s earlier emails, membership renewals for 2022-23 are also now due. Thank you to the many members who have already renewed. Members must be financial in advance of the AGM to nominate, and vote.

On a personal note, this AGM will be my last as WARG Secretary, a position I have had for six of the last seven years. Having completed three years in a row, I now need to formally step down and hand this task over to someone else (nominations welcome!) Please note I have no intention of stepping away from WARG, I intend to renominate for another Committee role, and hope to continue doing what I can well into the future.

73, and Best Regards,
Anthony VK6AXB
Secretary, West Australian Repeater Group
